1,000 Foods To Eat Before You Die
Mimi Sheraton, an American journalist whose career credits include restaurant critic, lecturer and cookbook author has produced an inspirational, fascinating and incredible book of the one thousand foods that have a special place in her heart.
The book is divided into regions of the world (turning it also into a sort of travel book) and sub-dividend alphabetically in each particular country listing.
What we very much enjoyed is that at the end of each delicious entry is further information – information on how to obtain/cook that item of food plus references to cookery books and websites.
And every now and again an actual recipe is included on the page.
The book must have taken years to write – but thank you Mimi for persevering. It is a fascinating book to dip in and out of, but be warned one entry seduces you into reading the next, and the next and the …! We hate putting it down.
